e-Groups
Welcome to e-Groups for XBRL Members
e-Groups are the new discussion forums for XBRL which are replacing Yahoo groups. e-Groups make use of two separate applications: Listserv for mailing lists and Sharepoint websites for group collaboration tasks, such as file storage, arrangement of meetings, handling of agendas and minutes, and tracking of actions.
The List of e-Groups provides links to available e-Groups. If you wish to access an e-Group of which you are not a member, you will need to apply to join. The list gives instructions on how to do this. Many e-Groups are open to any XBRL member, but some, for example some Steering Committees, have restricted membership. The list shows any restrictions which apply.
Once you have joined an e-Group, you can add its pages to your favourite links, go to it directly wthout coming via this website and use automated login from your PC.
The e-Groups Help page explains the use of Listserv and Sharepoint in more detail and gives access to guides to introduce XBRL users to the systems. To access these guides directly click on Getting Started-Listserv and Getting Started-Sharepoint.
Feel free to join and contribute to any open e-Group. Your interest and participation will be welcomed, whether or not you bring great experience of the area concerned. Please note the Conditions of Use of e-Groups which apply to all members.
If you want to set up an e-Group for international or local purposes, please click on Setting Up an e-Group.
XBRL Groups Admin is responsible for overall management of e-Groups. Contact groups@xbrl.org with any queries or comments.
Existing Yahoo groups, which are steadily being replaced, are listed on Yahoo Groups in the News for Members section.
