Specifications - Requirements

Requirements are statements by the XBRL Community which will form the basis for the creation of specifications.  They will generally be issued first as Public Working Drafts for discussion and refinement.  After careful review and agreement by the Community on their content, they will gain Recommendation status.

  • Rendering Requirements   July 24, 2007
    The Rendering Working Group has issued the first Public Working Draft of a set of requirements for a method to provide information necessary to render XBRL instances in a human readable form. Feedback from the public on this document is eagerly sought.

  • Dimensional Taxonomy Requirements   June 21, 2005
    This document describes the business requirements for taxonomy authors to define and restrict dimensional information that instance authors may use in the segment and scenario elements of the context element of XBRL instance documents. This requirements document has been satisfied by the Dimensions Specification published on the Specification Recommendations page.
