XBRL Standards Board
(XSB) and Best Practices Board (BPB) Chair Recruitment
XBRL International
(XII) is seeking Chairs for both the XSB and BPB as part of its scheduled
rotation of these leadership positions. XII has experienced a global expansion
of adoption and interest in XBRL and the electronic standardization of business
information it facilitates. This has raised expectations of an accelerated
evolution of the XBRL specification, support materials and communication
linkage to XBRL projects and the community at large. The selected Chairs for
these key activities of XII must be committed to leading with a collaborative
and market focussed approach.
The organization has
an experienced 8 member Standards Board. We seek a qualified individual to fill
the role of Chair for this Board. The Chair will be expected to:
· Participate
in the development of a strategic plan for the evolution of the specification
· Oversee
the production of the consortium’s technical materials and Working Groups
· Increase
uniformly the quality, consistency, and stability of the XBRL International
technical product
· Raise the
level of openness and market feedback in the XBRL International standards
setting process
· Strategically
address interoperability of XBRL and other standards
The
candidate for this position must be well qualified in at least one of the
following competencies: Software
Architecture, Business Reporting Management, Product and Programme Management.

The organization has
an experienced 8 member Best Practices Board. We seek a qualified individual to
fill the role of Chair for this Board. The Chair will be expected to:
· Advance
the development of resources to support the implementation, integration,
maintenance and usage of the XBRL specifications
· Develop
strategies to realize the goals of the BPB
· Oversee
the work plans and deliverables of the Practice Working Groups
· Facilitate
the involvement of key stakeholders and project leaders
· Interface
with stakeholders to ensure BPB goals meet needs of the community
The ideal BPB Chair
will have knowledge of and interest in the gathering and evaluation of project
management practices and implementation of technical solutions in production or
financial environments. Experience may include capital
markets, banking, regulatory, public sector, and XBRL implementations.

These Chair positions are volunteer assignments
available to participants in the XII consortium. Each Chair will serve an
annual term and can be re-appointed
but cannot serve more than 3 consecutive terms and not more than 3 terms in any
period of 6 years. Each position qualifies for a voting at-large seat on the XBRL
International Steering Committee. Each candidate for Chair will be required to
demonstrate the commitment of their employer to support the time (generally 3-6
hours per week) and financial requirements (travel to 2 XII conferences
annually and 1-2 other international meetings per year) of the position.
