The XBRL International (XII) Steering Committee Announces the Appointment of Koizumi Makoto as Chairman of the Best Practices Board
In its final regular session of the year the XBRL International Steering Committee approved by
unanimous vote to appoint Koizumi Makoto, Senior Consultant at Fujitsu Research Institute, as the
Chairman of the XII Best Practices Board.

Mr. Makoto Koizumi is a XBRL consultant at Fujitsu Research Institute, XBRL International Steering Committee Member at Large, and has led Fujitsu’s Global XBRL Initiatives since 2004. He has 8 years working experience on XBRL and the business reporting area based in New York and Tokyo. He worked
for several XBRL implementation projects and consortium activities including Japan FSA EDINET Project, Tokyo Stock Exchange TDnet Project, XBRL Japan IFRS XBRL document development SWG, XBRL document assurance SWG and XBRL confirmation of balance SWG in XBRL Japan.
He is a founding member of Interoperable Taxonomy Architecture (ITA) Group, which is the joint initiative lead by Japan FSA (JFSA), International Accounting Standard Committee Foundation (IASCF) and US Securities Exchange Committee (US SEC) and contributes to make interoperable taxonomy architecture and ITA guides among the parties.
Mr. Makoto takes over the position from Chairman, Ralf Frank, who has spent the past year working to maximize the Board goals.
The Best Practices Board mission is to actively manage the production, dissemination and continual improvement of work products that describe methods and processes for successful development, implementation, integration, maintenance and usage of XBRL specifications. The current focus of the board and its working groups is in the areas of Taxonomy Architecture, Software Interoperability, Project Management and Reporting Processes.
