Taxonomy Architecture Guidance
The Best Practices Board (BPB) has launched a Taxonomy Architecture Guidance Task Force to oversee the development and dissemination of a Taxonomy Architecture Guidance document (TAG).
The changing face of business reporting and the fast moving adoption of XBRL mandates the need for a comprehensive guideline document for taxonomy architecture that can provide those who have limited knowledge of XBRL and taxonomies guidance that defines the various taxonomies that have been built catering to various domains, common and key principles that define architecture of the taxonomy, and the impacts of adopting a specific structure of taxonomy.
After the first version is released, the TAG-TF will then be responsible for periodically updating the TAG document to ensure that the document provides for all evolving architectures.
