Taxonomy Packages Moves to Proposed Recommendation

Posted on December 11, 2015 by Dave Nitchman

The Taxonomy Packages specification aims to make XBRL taxonomies easier for end users to work with by enabling the automated configuration of software to support the taxonomies they contain, and allowing taxonomy authors to provide additional meta-data that help users understand the way they are structured. This aids consistency as XBRL adoption increases and the number of taxonomies in use grows. It helps software interoperability and makes XBRL more accessible. Proposed Recommendation is the final stage in the development process. Access the Taxonomy Packages Specification.
