New webinar unpacks upgraded validation features in Calc 1.1

Posted on July 18, 2025 by Editor

XBRL International recently hosted a fast-paced 30-minute webinar diving into Calculations 1.1, the latest upgrade to XBRL’s calculation rules. If you missed it, no worries: the recording is now available.

The update brings sharper validation, especially for rounded numbers and duplicate facts, and helps clean up cluttered validation reports. Presenters Paul Beckmann (Lucanet), Catalina Ibáñez Gutiérrez (Lucanet) and Thomas Verdin (XBRL Europe) broke down what’s new, why it matters, and what early adopters are learning on the ground.

Calculation relationships define how figures add up in XBRL reports. This upgrade strengthens those links and brings more clarity, less noise. If you work on taxonomies, tagging, or tooling, this one’s for you.

Watch the recording here, read the Calculations 1.1 guidance here, or find out how it helps clean up validation reports in this blog post.
