FASB proposes updates to 2026 Data Quality Rules taxonomy

The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has released proposed updates to the 2026 Data Quality Committee Rules Taxonomy (DQCRT), now open for public comment.
The DQCRT supports the application of validation rules developed by the XBRL US Data Quality Committee (DQC), offering regulators the option to adopt subsets relevant to their reporting needs. The 2026 release introduces over 25 new or revised rules targeting issues such as lease disclosures, segment reporting, cash flow consistency, and balance sheet accuracy.
The comment period is open until 10 November 2025. Stakeholders can submit feedback directly through FASB’s online taxonomy review portal.
Review the proposed updates in the release notes.
