The data readiness bottleneck
A recent survey by PwC, drawing on interviews with 50 Chief Information Officers in Germany, offers a glimpse of where AI adoption is getting stuck: the data. Just 22% of organisations surveyed have the data readiness required to scale advanced AI implementations, making shared semantic models, robust data management, and better data infrastructure the key.
For all the talk of AI-driven transformation, the limiting factor in the AI era is often data foundations. Many organisations lack access to consistent, well-structured, machine-readable data that drives the best performance in AI analysis.
As AI moves further into financial decision-making, the case for structured reporting requirements only gets stronger. Ensuring clean, structured data underpins AI models is crucial to unlocking the most from AI.
