Everything You Wanted to Know About the Status of IFRS

Posted on May 13, 2016 by Dave Nitchman

The IASB has published the latest version of its “Pocket Guide”, which is a comprehensive look at IFRS adoption around the world. It’s over 100 pages, so whether you will want to print it and carry it around in your pocket is of some debate, but it is without doubt a highly detailed and useful explanation of IFRS accounting standards, which are in use around the world for reporting by both publicly accountable entities and SMEs. It also contains in-depth information on IFRS uptake in 143 countries and other jurisdictions. The pocket guide is a valuable resource for understanding IFRS, which not coincidentally is closely linked to XBRL adoption and use. We recommend downloading the pocket guide and keeping it handy (in electronic format). Find it here.
