FASB invites comment on 2026 taxonomy improvements.

The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) is inviting public comment on its latest proposed updates to the SEC Reporting Taxonomy, aimed at refining and aligning the digital framework with current standards and disclosure practices.

Stakeholders are encouraged to review and provide feedback on the draft changes outlined in File Reference No. 2026-1000, with the comment period open until 4 November 2025.

These annual updates aim to refine and align the taxonomy with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The proposed enhancements are detailed in the 2026 SRT Release Notes, which include adjustments to technical elements and other conforming revisions.

These updates are part of the ongoing effort to ensure the taxonomy remains robust, relevant, and usable in an evolving reporting environment.
