FASB seeks comments on 2026 taxonomy reference improvements

The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Taxonomy staff has issued a set of proposed improvements for the 2026 GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy (GRT) Reference Project, now open for public comment.
The proposals aim to enhance the usability of the taxonomy by refining reference role assignments, reviewing current reporting requirements, and implementing technical improvements. These changes are designed to help preparers and data users better align disclosures with underlying accounting standards.
The comment period closes on 30 October 2025. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the release notes and submit feedback via email or post.
