GLEIF works towards scalable trust through AI, data quality and interoperability
The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) has published its latest blog, reviewing progress made in 2025 and previews upcoming initiatives designed to strengthen trust in the Global LEI System.
Among the key developments, GLEIF highlights the growing role of AI and advanced analytics in improving data quality. The LENU tool, introduced in 2025 to detect legal forms of identity, is now embedded into GLEIF’s data validation checks, streamlining processes and reducing errors at scale. Continued collaboration with regulators and LEI issuers will support deeper AI integration in 2026, including more adaptive, risk-based quality controls and relationship mapping.
GLEIF is also advancing its work on interoperability. Following its contribution to the BIS Innovation Hub’s Analytics Challenge, it launched the Global Open Data Integration Network (GODIN), which will connect trusted public datasets to LEIs.
GLEIF’s focus on trusted, structured identifiers aligns directly with our own mission. As AI and machine-readable data continue to reshape financial oversight, high-quality, interoperable standards like the LEI are vital to delivering scalable trust.
