ISAR 42 honours

Posted on November 28, 2025 by Editor

ISAR 42 honours.

Two weeks ago, at the 42nd session of the United Nations Trade and Development Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting – that’s “UNCTAD ISAR 42” for the rest of us – a ceremony was held honouring a number of projects from around the world. Awards were presented to seven initiatives, including to the Nigerian Financial Reporting Council for its work on ISSB education and training, and to the ISSB itself for its capacity building efforts. But for us, two awards stood out:

  • The special award to the Colombian Superintendencia de Sociedades for “developing digital solutions supporting high technical quality sustainability reporting — specifically regarding Colombia’s first nationwide technical sustainability report using XBRL,” presented by Kurt Ramin (XBRL International Chairman 2003-2005!).
  • The award to EFRAG for its XBRL-enabled voluntary sustainability reporting taxonomy, templates and exemplar for small and medium-sized enterprises (the VSME initiative).

Special mention to Jane Thostrup Jagd of We Mean Business Coalition for the award recognising their report on early CSRD adopters efforts… even though, as a Dane, she found it difficult to brag about!

Congratulations to all of the winners at the UNCTAD ISAR Honours 2025. You can see all of the presentations from this year’s ISAR meeting from the “Presentations” tab here.
