Taxonomy Architecture Taskforce: Call for Participation

Posted on January 11, 2019 by Editor

Given a taxonomy, how do I specify which items are mandatory in a report?

The XBRL International Best Practices Board seeks XII participants to contribute to the Taxonomy Architecture Guidance Task Force (TAGTF). The taskforce is moving on to look at a new topics and would like to solicit contributions from interested parties. The Task force welcomes members that wish to review materials as well as author content.

The taskforce will be addressing the question: “How can taxonomy owners best specify which items are mandatory in a report?” This question is currently commonly found in collector systems, for example in EDGAR filings to the SEC, in HMRC required elements and required elements in XBRL submissions for banking regulations. The trouble is that not all regulators do this consistently. Perhaps the TAGTF can start to change this.

The taskforce plans to start looking at this new topic at the end of January. This is a perfect opportunity for you and your organisation to underline your reputation as XBRL experts. Please contact the TAGTF at tagtf@xbrl.org to volunteer.
