Will ESAP deliver for data users? John Turner joins ESMA Data Day panel
XBRL International CEO John Turner will speak at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) Data Day 2026 in Paris on 24 November, joining a panel that asks whether the European Single Access Point (ESAP) will deliver on its promises for data users.
The full-day event, “Data in the Savings and Investment Union: from burden to opportunity”, will bring together more than 200 industry participants, regulators and other stakeholders. Parallel sessions will cover data and technology in supervision, simplification and burden reduction, integrated fund reporting, ESAP and crypto-asset monitoring, all within the wider context of the Market Integration and Supervision Package (MISP).
ESMA launched data collection under ESAP’s first phase in July, and the hope is that the platform gives users consistent, machine-readable information from across Europe that they can use from the outset.
