Taxonomy Packages Advanced to Candidate Recommendation with Call for Implementations

Posted on June 19, 2015 by Dave Nitchman

The Taxonomy Packages specification aims to make XBRL taxonomies easier for end users to work with. Taxonomy Packages enable automated configuration of software to support the taxonomies they contain, and allow taxonomy authors to provide additional meta-data that help users understand the way they are structured. This aids consistency as XBRL adoption increases and the number of taxonomies in use grows. It helps software interoperability and makes XBRL more accessible.  CR status indicates that it is ready for software implementations. Access the specification.

Members and Developers please note: The Specification Working Group is developing a Conformance Suite for this specification that will allow developers to test their products.  Members who wish to get early access to this suite should join the Specification Working Group.
