EFRAG calls for feedback on IASB risk mitigation accounting proposals
EFRAG is seeking stakeholder feedback on proposals from the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) concerning risk mitigation accounting, a project aimed at improving how entities reflect dynamic risk management strategies in their financial statements.
The consultation focuses on whether the proposed accounting model appropriately captures risk mitigation activities and provides decision-useful information to investors. EFRAG’s outreach will inform its endorsement advice to the European Commission, shaping how the proposals may be adopted within the EU.
As you would expect, in our view, testing appropriate digital tagging in clear, structured representation of such information could improve comparability, and enable more advanced analytics by users of financial data.
Stakeholders are encouraged to provide input to ensure that the resulting standards balance transparency, operability and digital usability. The deadline for input is 12 May.
