Last month’s XBRL Directions webinar, exploring best practices for creating and publishing filing rules in XBRL reporting programmes, is now available to watch on YouTube.
The webinar covered a practical range of territory: from an introduction to filing rules and their role in ensuring consistent, usable and technically valid filings, to the key classes of useful rules (and a few to avoid!), through to concrete best practices for quality, clarity and testability. Filing rules are a necessary part of almost every XBRL reporting programme. Getting them right makes life significantly easier for filers and vendors alike, while poorly designed rules can create unnecessary friction and inconsistency.
