EFRAG’s April podcast rounds up a busy month in reporting
The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) released the latest edition of its EFRAG Update Podcast earlier this week, offering an audio-based roundup of the latest developments in financial and sustainability reporting.
On the financial reporting side, the episode highlights EFRAG’s Final Comment Letter on proposed amendments to IAS 28, supporting changes to the Fair Value Option to address concerns for the insurance sector ahead of IFRS 18 implementation. It also flags open consultations on Risk Mitigation Accounting, Connectivity between financial and sustainability reporting, and a Draft Assessment Report on a voluntary reporting template for SMEs and startups on the European Single Access Point (ESAP).
In sustainability reporting, the episode covers the appointment of Kerstin Lopatta as the new EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board (SRB) Chair, the submission of EFRAG’s Sustainability Reporting Work Programme 2026 to the European Commission, including a commitment to accelerating XBRL taxonomy updates, and the publication of EFRAG’s own first sustainability report, prepared under the Voluntary Standard for SMEs (VSME).
For those who like to listen to their news, the podcast is a valuable way to stay up to date with Europe’s rapidly evolving sustainability reporting landscape.
