In an upbeat assessment of the global economy, IMF Chief Christine Lagarde suggested this week that now is the right time for countries to implement economic reforms, with around 75% of the world’s economies enjoying strong growth. The Fund has a laundry list of suggestions about ways to secure economic expansion and to tackle inequality. She urges not to “let a good recovery go to waste”, and her speech makes for an interesting read.

We might be biased but in a similar way we think that the push to digitise reporting has never been more important. XBRL and related standards might just be “plumbing” that support the collection, dissemination, discovery and analysis of information. But that information needs to be high quality structured, digital information to be useful in the 21st Century. From enterprise reporting to granular data collection, to blockchain based data discovery… now is the time to experiment, to innovate and to push forward. Of course, your first step needs to be Data Amplified!
