SEC announces Office Focused on Innovation and Financial Technology

Posted on December 11, 2020 by Editor

With the centrality of technology and innovation to the financial sector only growing, the US’ SEC recently announced that the Strategic Hub for Innovation and Financial Technology, commonly referred to as FinHub, is to become a stand-alone office.

FinHub helps the SEC keep track of the latest innovations, analyses emerging technologies and develops and implements policies in this area.

Establishing FinHub as a standalone office will help the SEC to continue identifying and analysing emerging financial technologies from around the world and engaging with innovators and regulators to ensure the latest approaches to capital formation, trading, and other financial services are being taken into account.
