SEC opens review of new SRO taxonomy for digital form 1 filings
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has released the draft 2026Q2 Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) Taxonomy for public comment, with the review period open until 9 March 2026. This draft taxonomy supports the digital submission of Form 1 and related filings, as mandated under the SEC’s rule on the Electronic Submission of Certain Materials Under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
The proposed taxonomy introduces new XBRL elements to facilitate Inline XBRL tagging of Form 1 applications and amendments submitted by exchanges through the EDGAR system. These changes are part of broader efforts to digitise and standardise regulatory disclosures from entities such as exchanges, broker-dealers, clearing agencies, and security-based swap dealers.
We encourage stakeholders to engage with the draft taxonomy to help ensure robust and consistent implementation.
