Taxonomy Registry API

Posted on February 2, 2018 by Editor

We’ve just launched a test version of an API for the XBRL Taxonomy Registry.  The Taxonomy Registry is a repository of information about XBRL taxonomies from around the world, and the API provides a mechanism for software to directly query the taxonomies in it.

We’re currently looking for developers who are interesting in trying the API and are seeking feedback on what functions would be useful to expose via API calls.  If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact us.

Over time we expect to see XBRL tools integrate with the registry via the API, in order to make it easier for end users to find and work with XBRL taxonomies.  If you’re a taxonomy publisher you should make sure that your latest taxonomy is uploaded to the registry so that users of your taxonomy can benefit from this new functionality.
