VSME gains traction as EFRAG shares resources and stakeholder insights

EFRAG has released a full set of materials from its 7 April event, “VSME in Action: Empowering SMEs for a Sustainable Future,” including session recordings, presentation slides, and AI-translated content in 15 languages.
The event was part of EFRAG’s drive to promote the Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs (VSME), and to test the waters on how it’s being received. The takeaway? There’s clear interest—but also a need for more guidance and dialogue. The resources now available offer a window into the questions, concerns and momentum building around VSME adoption.
As sustainability expectations filter down to smaller entities, scalable, structured reporting becomes essential. VSME is designed to meet that challenge—providing SMEs with a clear path to communicate sustainability performance in a way that aligns with broader reporting ecosystems, without being overwhelmed by complexity.
EFRAG’s publication of these resources marks another step in making sustainability disclosure more inclusive and effective.
