Why XBRL May Be About to Have its “Show Me the Money” Moment

According to Bernard Lunn from FinTech4Us, even though you won’t hear a lot of positive stories about XBRL from Wall Street, “XBRL democratises fundamental stock analysis in the same way that PCs democratised computing and social media democratised HTML”. He goes on to posit that XBRL needs to be recognised as something deeply disruptive to the traditional ways that analysis gets done.  Among other things,  he argues that the power of XBRL can be used to find entirely new opportunities in the small-cap market. He points out that with the advent of high frequency and low latency trading, there are fewer opportunities amongst more liquid securities. Lunn says this is low hanging fruit for the tech savvy fintech entrepreneur. So go to it!  Read the full post.
