AASB launches resource hub to support climate reporting

The Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) has launched the AASB S2 Knowledge Hub to support the implementation of mandatory climate-related disclosures under AASB S2. The hub, introduced in May 2025, is designed to guide entities preparing sustainability-related financial disclosures under Australia’s new reporting framework.
The hub offers foundational materials, including an overview of AASB S1 and S2 and a detailed FAQ section addressing key questions about reporting obligations, timelines, and how AASB S2 aligns with international standards like IFRS S2. While AASB S2 is mandatory for certain entities from 1 January 2025, AASB S1 remains voluntary. Entities are also advised on assurance expectations, reporting thresholds, and phased implementation schedules.
The resource is intended to grow throughout the year, with updates supporting preparers and stakeholders navigating the evolving sustainability disclosure landscape in Australia.
