BSE Expands XBRL Filing Requirements

As a follow on to its requirement that companies file Shareholding Pattern data (which divulge how a company’s shares are split among the entities that make up its owners) in XBRL, the BSE will now collect Financial Results data in XBRL.

XBRL adoption is widespread in India, with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (annual report and cost audit report filings), the Reserve Bank  and the Securities and Exchange Board (mutual funds) also having XBRL reporting mandates. Learn more.
