Congressional DATA Act Implementation Hearing

Posted on December 4, 2014 by Dave Nitchman

The US House of Representative’s Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing with testimony from elected and government official on how the DATA Act will impact government spending. In his remarks, David Mader, Controller, Office of Management and Budget, called the DATA Act “a tool for better oversight, management decision-making, and innovation both inside and out of government”, and detailed progress to-date and next steps. We will continue to follow the implementation of this legislation carefully as it, along with SBR and other open data initiatives, has global implications.
