CDSB is now part of IFRS

Posted on February 4, 2022 by Editor

The Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) has now been fully consolidated into the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation, with the team set to form part of the IFRS staff supporting the newly formed International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). The move involves the transfer of staff from CDP, as well as core intellectual property and technical assets. “This is an essential step in providing the newly created ISSB with the technical expertise it needs to produce IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards to the ambitious timeline we have set,” says Erkki Liikanen, Chair of the IFRS Foundation Trustees.

The creation of the ISSB continues at pace. We might be in the middle of a once-in-a-generation set of changes to corporate reporting and the global reinvention of disclosure, but none of it will happen without the commitment, knowledge and perspective of key experts – and these changes impact their working and personal lives in very real ways too. We’d like to take a moment to shout out our thanks to the fantastic team at CDSB who are now joining the IFRS, not least the indefatigable Mardi McBrien and Michael Zimonyi! Thank you for all of your work!
