Posted on October 12, 2016 by Dave Nitchman

“Organisations the world over are collecting, sharing and using data in ways never seen before, with completely new technologies and processes rapidly taking hold. Digital is the new reality and professionals in this field face unprecedented changes in their roles. New technology is creating opportunity and challenges right around the world and Data Amplified is the key event to attend for anyone responsible for defining, collecting, preparing or analyzing business reports”, said XBRL International CEO John Turner. “Speakers at Data Amplified will bring insight into the way that data standards and emerging technologies like Blockchain, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence are repositioning both public and private organisations in an increasingly transparent environment where financial, performance, sustainability, risk and compliance information must be available, high quality and useful for regulators, investors and citizens alike”.

Speakers on new technologies include:

  • Lory Kehoe, a Director and EMEA FS Blockchain Lab Lead, Deloitte. Using a case study on Deloitte’s proposed MiFID II filing solutions for a European Bank, Kehoe, will explain the potential that blockchain offers to fundamentally change how information flows between firms and regulators, reducing the filing burden and producing better results for both parties.
  • Ms Xiaomin Zhang, Global Wholesale Banking Technology Executive, APAC at Bank of America Merrill Lynch will address the question “Blockchain or Don’t Blockchain?” She will describe the journey that the Bank has experienced in working on a multi-party effort to re-engineer aspects of Trade Finance Letter of Credit lifecycle management by using Blockchain. Find out some key pointers to the power as well as the drawbacks associated with distributed ledger technology.

Along with forward looking keynote speeches, Data Amplified 2016 will feature two tracks over 2 ½ days packed with collaborative sessions led by business reporting and data management experts from key regulators such as the Bank of England, the Dutch National Bank, the Kuwait Capital Markets Authority, the Central Bank of Russia, the South African Reserve Bank, the Bank of Israel, and the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore. Organisations such as EY, BearingPoint, Invoke Software and Iris Business Services will also share their perspectives with client case studies.
