Are you considering responding to the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) consultation on its proposed new framework for preparing management commentaries? This is intended to broaden the scope of the disclosures included, reflecting the evolving reporting landscape, bringing digital implications that are also under consideration, and potentially paving the way to further change.

For those interested in learning more, IASB has produced a series of webcasts addressing frequently asked questions on the proposals. In five videos, it addresses why the Board is developing the new framework and why now; why the framework focuses on value creation; how the proposed objectives-based approach is designed to help management tell their companies’ unique stories; the concept of ‘key matters’ and its relation to materiality; and the terminology proposed to express concepts in plain language. They are informative viewing – and if you want to provide your feedback you have until 23 November.
