Candidate Recommendation release of OIM specifications

Posted on February 5, 2021 by Editor

The XBRL Standards Board has approved a further Candidate Recommendation of the Open Information Model (OIM) suite of specifications. This latest release is expected to be the last prior to progressing to Proposed Recommendation status. The majority of the changes are updates to the xBRL-CSV specification to take into account early implementation experience.

With regulators around the world making plans for xBRL-CSV adoption, we strongly recommend that software developers who are not already participating in the OIM Working Group join now in order to gain access to the conformance suites for the specifications. It is expected that the OIM specifications will be available as XBRL Software Certification modules as soon as the specifications reach Recommendation status.

This new release can be found on our specifications site here. Not sure what the OIM is, or what it means for XBRL? Start here.

Members can enrol in the OIM Working Group via the xbrl.org website here.
