Editorial: The Economic Times Calls on India to Move Towards IFRS

In an editorial, The Economic Times calls on India to move more quickly towards implementation of IRFS, and that further use of XBRL should be encouraged to “avoid ambiguity and achieve greater transparency”. The editorial goes on to say that “Reform in financial reporting is overdue, and the government must go the whole hog”.

FASB Adds Additional XBRL Implementation Guides

The FASB has added three additional implementation guides to its XBRL Series: Insurance – Concentration of Credit Risk Disclosures; Insurance – Reinsurance Related Disclosures; and Segment Reporting. The guides are designed to help users of the U.S. GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy understand how certain disclosures are structured within the Taxonomy.
