XBRL US recently released a new publication, “Digital First for California Climate Data,” highlighting the importance of digital data standards in climate reporting – and advocating for the adoption of XBRL for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reporting in California.
The XSB has approved additions to the XBRL Unit Registry to support sustainability reporting requirements. The new “intensity” units enable the reporting of measures such as “green house gas emissions per unit of revenue”.
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the IFRS Foundation have collaborated to recently publish “Interoperability considerations for GHG emissions when applying GRI Standards and ISSB Standards.” The publication serves as a guide for companies navigating the measurement and disclosure of Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the We Mean Business Coalition (WMBC), in collaboration with Accounting for Sustainability (A4S), Global Accounting Alliance (GAA), and World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), recently released a guide to help accountants navigate the world of greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting.
