The International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) has embarked on a project to develop sustainability reporting standards for the public sector.
Comparability and interoperability between different reporting standards is an ever-important topic within business reporting. One source for understanding alignment is the IPSAS-IFRS Alignment Dashboard, which was recently updated, providing a useful resource for anyone who wants to understand where the two standards align and depart.
“While there has recently been significant progress towards the development of a global baseline for sustainability reporting in the private sector, public sector sustainability reporting has yet to move forward in the same way,” says the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB).
